Insurance with Full Coverage

Do you need full cover car insurance? Do you know what it covers? You know what it means? It sounds like a complete set of insurance. You will not need to think about getting insurance twice if it gives you the protection you were looking for. Anyway, the total coverage is not as simple as it may seem. If you know what full coverage means, you will make better decisions to choose the best insurance for you and your family. This article contains everything you need to know about full coverage insurance and the reasons why you should get insurance with full coverage.

What does full coverage car insurance mean?

Total coverage car insurance is not exactly an insurance product, it is more a set of combined coverages to provide complete coverage for the policyholder. When you combine these types of coverage, it helps avoid costly losses no matter who was at fault for the accident or how it happened.

The Full Cover car Insurance does not really include all the potential damages and losses, but it does protect it from many other things. The limits of liability, collision and comprehensive insurance are the three main factors of this type of insurance.

Liability insurance

Liability insurance could pay for bodily injury and damage to someone else’s property, it also protects you from financial liability in an accident. Liability claims can easily exceed tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. Making sure you are covered with more than the minimum state requirements can help you protect yourself from costly legal claims and legal expenses.

Collision insurance

Collision insurance is the coverage for the repair of your vehicle. Whether you hit a tree or hit another vehicle, the damage to your car could cost a lot. If your vehicle is added, you may run out of cars. Collision helps repair or replace your car, allowing you to get back on the road as soon as the company can do it.

Comprehensive insurance.

This, the comprehensive insurance is the coverage of physical damages for almost anything else that can happen to your vehicle, fire, flood or falling objects.

What does the collision insurance cover?

You may already know that having “comp and collision” is a complete coverage. Collision and comprehensive coverage encompass many scenarios, but they do not cover all.

Collision insurance covers your vehicle in these situations:

  • You have an accident with another vehicle
  • Another vehicle hits your car
  • When you hit an object
  • That unintentionally turn your vehicle
  • Collision covers your car for damages by accident, either because of your fault or not. To make a claim, you must pay your deductible. Then, your coverage will pay the remaining cost of repairs or losses to your vehicle.

What does comprehensive insurance cover?

The word integral can be confusing. Integral, also known as “non-collision”, covers many other situations that the collision does not cover. Since the details of comprehensive insurance may depend on different factors, it is a good idea to carefully review your car insurance policy to understand exactly what it covers.

Comprehensive insurance usually covers your vehicle in these situations:

  • Vandalism
  • Theft
  • Damage to glass
  • Damage from flying or falling objects
  • Hitting an animal
  • Fire
  • Flood
  • Damage due to natural disasters

If your vehicle is damaged in any of these ways, after paying your deductible, your comprehensive coverage will pay for repairs or total loss based on the value of your car.

What does comprehensive insurance and collision NOT cover?

Having both comprehensive coverage and collision in your vehicle protects your car and you against many situations. But it does not cover the following scenarios:

  • Wear for use
  • Mechanical failure (if not related to an accident)
  • Electrical failure (if it is not caused by an accident)
  • Custom equipment that was not included or specified in your policy
  • Additional damage caused by not taking preventive measures
  • Intentional damage
  • Criminal actions (damages caused while trying to evade the police).
  • Confiscation of your vehicle by the authorities

And although it is not very likely, the coverage also excludes the damage resulting from these unlikely situations:

  • Nuclear exposure or explosion
  • Biochemical attack
  • War

Full Cover Car Insurance covers vehicle theft, but not everything in the car. Your collision or comprehensive coverage does not cover the following:

Personal items damaged or stolen.
Damaged or stolen electronic personal equipment not included in your policy.
